DALE/DAIL
Bruce Dale Sat., Dec. 28, 1996
Searching for parents or information on James William DALE born abt 1861 in Blanchester, OH. I think he descends from the William DALE (Dail) family that moved from Perquimans Co., NC, to Clermont Co., OH, about 1835. I cannot find anything on J.W. DALE before his marriage in 1885 in Henry Co., OH. J.W.'s father might be James DALE, son of Wm., who was killed in civil war, in NC. Possibly J.W. was raised by relatives back in Perquiman?

Seeking info on the family of Solomon (d.1744) & Mary HENDRICKS of Perquimans Co., NC. Daughters were Mary; Sarah, m. John JACKSON; Frances, m. William McGOWAN c. 1745. Solomon's brother was Jeremiah HENDRICKS (d. 1756), wife Sarah; son George; daughter m. Robert Cocks (Jr.?). Solomon and Jeremiah may be connected with the family of Francis HENDRICKS (d. 1714). CHAPPELL
Cheryl Carlile Wed, 11 Dec. 1996
Richard Chappell, born 6/18/1693 in Warwick County Virginia moved to Perquimans County, North Carolina somewhere between 1720 and 1727. He married a woman named Hannah and they had a son, Robert Chappel IV born in Perquimans County in 1729. Robert Chappell IV had a son, Job Chappel who married Leah Bond. Their son, Jacob Chappell moved to Indiana and married Rachel Lane of Virginia on the way. Rachel was a widow. I am looking for additional information on these members of the Chappell family. I have listed all the information I currently have. I'd like to flesh this out a bit with such things as occupations, other children, etc.

WILSON
Sally Furuiye Mon, 9 Dec. 1996
Searching for information about Robert WILLSON who arrived in Perqumans Co. from Virginia before 1696. His descendants were my ancestors. I have the skeleton of the family line but would like to know more about these folks. They were all Quakers and stayed in the area until about 1830. When Henry M. WILLSON moved onto Guilford County and then to points west. I have a great deal of information about this family I would be willing to share.
[The names of Robert Wilson and his wife Ann are found in the records of Chuckatuck, Va., Friends Meeting, as early as 1688. Their son Isaac Wilson and daughter Sarah Bellman lived in Perquimans Co. [ D. M. Ricks].

TOW/TOWE
Wayne Bixler Mon, 9 Dec. 1996
I'm trying to find anything that I can on the TOW family. The 1784-87 NC Census listed a Joseph TOW and a James TOWE in Onslow Co. Joseph was listed as a taxpayer in Onslow in 1771. The 1790 Census lists Joseph, William, and Deborah TOW (Pg. 32) in Perquimans Co., with an Abigail (Pg. 196) in Onslow. The 1800 Census lists Joseph, Deborah, and John (649, 650, 651) in Perquimans, and Abigail in Onslow. Later censuses, of course list a growing number of the TOW family in NC in Beaufort and Buncombe Cos. By about 1835, a number of the family moved to IN, which is my branch. I had thought they might have been Quakers (although there is no family record to indicate that), but they are pretty elusive to find in any records. I found a big book at the library on NC Quakers, and there are no TOWs listed. There is a Jesse TOWLE, but I don't think there is any connection. The earliest TOW records are in VA (Northumberland Co.) and MD (Calvert and Talbot Cos.) from 1652-1693. The migration from VA to NC would seem to fit.
