Our family has about five generations of Elliotts in Perquimans County from
Thomas in the 1600's to Jacob who left in 1812 for Ohio and Indiana with his
family. I do have the "History of Perquimans County, No. Carolina" by Mrs.
Watson Winslow that has much information, also a large Elliott Chart by Gen.
John Elliott Wood for reference if I could help anyone with research from
the book or our records. Our problem is finding the source or origin for Thomas
Elliott (Sr) (1664-1729 - not proven).

1998 17:50:05
A group of us are researching our family and came across and we found some
possible links to Pasquotank and Perquimans Counties in the area of 1800 to
1840. The name has had a number of spellings and the link we are looking for
is spelled Laboyteaux, and probably came from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
We did fing through FHC in the AIS a William Laboytown in the 1800 census
from Pasquotank County page 624. In 1820 a Sarah Labetue on Page 149 Perquimans
County, 1830 Samuel Labitsee page 103 and Sarah Labitoe page 123 both of Perquimans
County in 1840 a Will Labrytimers page 336 and Jas Labeytrain page 318 in
Pasquotank County. Nothing was found in 1790 census. I am going to the Archives
in East Point, Georgia Tuesday night and will see what I can find along with
any civil war records. I would appreciate any help anyone could offer on this
subject.

SCOTT,
GILBERT
Kathryn Scott Stevenson Tue, 14
Jul 1998 15:44:53
Looking for anyone who might be researching the Scott family from Perquimans
Co. Joseph Scott and his wife Marcella Gilbert are listed on the 1850 Census
in the Little River of Durant area. He moved his family to Norfolk Co., VA
after that time and then in 1856-57 purchased a farm in Moyock, Currituck
Co., NC. Marcella brother, Jefferson, witnessed the land purchase papers.
Have not been able to find anyone connected to this family. They had many
children and several died during childhood. My grandfather William Henry Scott
was born in 1861 in Moyock and was the youngest child in the family. His older
brother, Benjamin, was married by the time he was born. I believe Marcella
had the following brothers, Benjamin, Jefferson, Charles, and Washington and
that their Father was Benjamin who died before Sept. 1840. He could have been
married to an Indian as I was always told Marcella was part Indian. Would
like to correspond with anyone who might be connected.

There are several references of Silvanus Wilson in the "History of Perq. Co.,
NC". I would like to find evidence that a Silvanus Wilson who left a will
In Cumberland Co., NC in 1785 is the same one or connected to the Wilson's
in Perq. Co. This Silvanus lists his children as: Soloman, John, Robert, Samual,
Benjamin, Sarah Spachs? Body, Mirian Bynne, Mary Lock. The will also leaves
land in Bladen Co. to son Samual (who is under 21 at the time of the will).
It seems the name Robert was passed down in the many generations of Wilson's
from Perq. in addition to the name Silvanus.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer for any of my ancestors
below. They were all Quakers and most lived in and around Perquimans County,
North Carolina. I would be glad to offer any of the information I have on
them to those who might be interested. My great-great-great-great-great grandfather,
Daniel Saint, was from France, moved from France to Wales, and came to the
American Colonies around 1730, landing at Philadelphia. He later moved to
the eastern part of North Carolina where he lived to a great age. He was married
three times and had three sets of children. His son, Hercules Saint, and two
sisters, Gulachma and Sarah, were of the middle set and lived in Perquimans
County, NC. Hercules had a son, William Saint, who was born in Perquimans
County. William married Achsah Elliott, daughter of Abram and Julia Elliott,
and had eleven children: Erum, Julia Ann, Alphons, Jeanette (b. 1816), Doughty,
Joseph, Johnathan, Daniel, Milton, William Jr., and Cynthia. Jeanette Saint
married Abner Pickering, and their daughter Julia Pickering (b. 1850) married
my great grandfather Lindley Schooley Butler (b. 1846). Achsah Elliott, daughter
of Abram and Julia Elliott, was one of seven brothers and sisters: Benjamin,
Ephraim, Rachel, Karun, Achsah, Cynthia and Johnathan. They were all born
in North Carolina.

Researching Zachariah and Mary WEBB of Hertford, Perquimans Co., NC. They
were the parents of my GGgrandmother, Sarah Ann "Sally" WEBB (1823-1857),
who married Thomas J. ELLIOTT of Hertford. According to Mrs. Winslow's History
of Perquimans County, Zachariah Webb "of Chowan Co." bought land "near Yeopim
River"in 1779. Zachariah Webb "of Perquimans" then bought more land "on West
Side of Broad Creek" in 1784. So I think there may have been two Zachariahs,
father and son. Does anybody have information on either? Happy to share.

ELLIOTT,
HUFF/HOUGH
Sandy with no last name Wed,
07 Jan 1998 01:55:15
Isaac Elliot (late 1700's), married Anna HUFF/HOUGH. They were of the Quaker
faith, members of Salem Quaker Church in Randolph County, NC. My Grandmother's
history notes say many of our ELLIOTT family is buried in the old Salem cemetary
there. Isaac and Anna's children were- Jacob (died in ILL in 1883), John,
William, Jessie, Alford, Daniel, *Alexander, Benjamine (died young) , Mary,Rebecca,
Leah and Rachel. One girl married a BLAIRE and one died young. Some of the
sons moved to the mid western states. *Alexander Elliott (born 1818) moved
to Conway, SC and married JoAnna Przyborowski. Their children were: Thomas
Thaddius ELLIOTT (banker in Conway, SC) , Anna Cornellia ELLIOTT (mrd. John
HOLBERT), John Welsh ELLIOTT, Alexander Przyborowski ELLIOTT (never married),
Fannie Susan ELLIOTT (mrd. Thomas SEAGLE). Alexander had a tannery shop on
Kingston Lake in Conway, SC. He was a carpenter by trade, He built houses
in Conway, SC, some are still there. He moved to Hendersonville, NC, where
he died in 1894. Although I have no positive data that states my ELLIOTTs
or HUFFs were from Perquimans, I have a feeling they could have been because
of the Quaker-ELLIOTT connection in that county. Also have seen ELLIOTT given
names in that area that match my data. If anyone sees a conection with my
ELLIOTTs and their Perquimans County ELLIOTTs, I would love to hear from you.
