RCGWP Has Moved!

May15, 2008 by R. Trent Briles

NOTE: THIS IS THE LAST UPDATE FOR THIS PAGE ON THE ROOTSWEB SERVER. ALL LINKS NOW POINT TO THE NEW SERVER

The RCGWP completed the move from Rootsweb to the NC Gen Web Project main server. “The Generations Network" which owns Rootsweb.com has merged with Ancestry.com, a paid service. TGN is the parent company of both networks and as many of you know Rootsweb has been free for many years. Rootsweb now has a domain, which is behind the Ancestry domain of (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/).

TGN also announced earlier that banners would be placed on Rootsweb and that information on the site would become property of TGN. Other than a new domain name change, there should not be any noticeable changes within the project. All of the information currently on the Rootsweb server will be moved to the new one. I would like to thank Nola Duffy, Asst. State Coordinator, for assisting with the set-up and PATIENCE during this major transition.

Navigation Around the Site

February 1, 2008 by R.Trent Briles

As stated above, I want to make the navigation around the site easy and painless. The majority of the research can be accessed by the menus above or by the links on the right.

County projects are required to be updated every 6 to 8 weeks. I plan to update this site everyday by posting death notices and listing queries via mutiple message boards.

Here's the Latest...UPDATE!
