2nd Battalion Co. F
This company was organized in Randolph Co, NC in October 1861 and was
mustered into the Confederate States service at Wilmington , New Hanover Co,
NC on Jan 7 , 1862 as Company F of this battalion .
Officers:
ANDREWS,Hezekiah L.
resided in Randolph Co. and appointed Captain at age 22 to rank from Nov 30,
1861. Captured at Roanoke Lsland on Feb 8, 1862 and paroled at Elizabeth
City on Feb 21,1862. Transferred to the field and Staff of this battalion
upon appointment as Major on Oct 1, 1862.
HANCOCK,John M.
resided in Randolph Co NC and appointed 1st Lieutenant at age 23 to rank
from Nov 30, 1861. He was not captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862 and
attached himself to the 54th Reg.NC troops on May 15, 1862. Served with that
regiment until Sept 3, 1862. Elected Captain at reorganization of this
company on Sept 26, 1862 and appointed to rank from the date of election .
Transferred to the Field and Staff of this battalion upon appointment as
Major on June 6, 1863.

resided in Randolph Co where he enlisted at age 27 , Dec 4, 1861 for twelve
months. Mustered in as a sergeant. Captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862
and paroled at Elizabeth City on Feb 21, 1862. Appointed 2nd Lieutenant,
Sept 25, 1862. Present and accounted for until captured at Fisher's Hill ,VA
Sept 22, 1864. Confined at Fort Delaware,Delaware until released after
taking the oath of allegiance on June 17, 1865.
PUGH,James W. 3rd Lieutenant
Resided in Randolph County where he enlisted at age 20,Dec 4, 1861 for
twelve months. Mustered in as 1st sergeant. Captured at Roanoke Island on
Feb 8, 1861 and paroled at Elizabeth City NC on Feb 21, 1862. Appointed
Corporal at reorganization
of the company on Sept 25, 1862. Elected 3rd Lieutenant on March 8, 1863 and
appointed to rank from the date of election. Present and accounted for
through Feb , 1865 Captured on April 3, 1865 in the hospital where he had
been admitted as"wounded" . Paroled on June 5, 1865.
WILLIAMS, Zimri J. 1st Lieutenant
resided in Randolph County and appointed 3rd Lieutenant to rank from Nov 30,
1861. Captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862 and paroled at Elizxabeth
City ,NC on Feb 21, 1862. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant at reorganization of
company on Sept 25, 1862. Present and accounted for until captured at Silver
Springs ,Maryland July 13, 1864. Confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington
DC until transferred to Fort Delaware, Delaware, Oct 23, 1864. Died of small
pox Fort Delaware on Jan 24,1865.
WINSLOW,Hilkiah 2nd lieutenant
resided in Randolph County and appointed 2nd liet. at age 26 to rank from
Nov 30, 1861. Captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862 and paroled at
Elizabeth City NC on Feb 21, 1862. Not reelected at reorganization of
company on Sep 25, 1862.

at Richmond,Va mar 30, 1865 with "febris cont." and was transferred to Camp
Lee,VA April 1, 1865.

Enlisted in Wake County Aug 18,1864 for the war. Wounded and captured at
Winchester,VA Sept 19, 1864 and admitted to USA Depot Field Hospital,
Winchester,VA Sept 24, 1864. Transferred to USA General Hospital West's
Buildings, Baltimore,Maryland Nov 15-16, 1864 with "g.s.w. left thigh and
right hand" and was transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, jan8, 1865.
Released at Point Lookout,Md after taking the oath of allegiance.
BARKER,Jasper M,private
resided in Randolph County where he enlisted at age 20, Oct 21, 1861 for
twelve months. Captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862 and paroled at
Elizabeth City ,NC on Feb 21, 1862.Captured at Gettysburg,PA July 4, 1863
and was confined at Fort Delaware,Delaware. On July 27, 1863 he took the
oath of allegiance and joined the US service. Assigned to Ahl's Indepenent
Company ,Delaware Heavy Artillary.

resided in Randolph Co where he ensted at age 16, Oct 1861 for twelve
months. Captured at Roanoke Island on Feb 8, 1862 and paroled at Elizabeth C
on feb 21, 1862. Enlisted in Comopany E 63rd regiment NC troops( 5th Reg
Calvary) on Aug 20, 1863 while absent without leave from this company.
