HIGH POINT- Randolph Co. Native Mrs. Jurdine Richardson Stacy, 78, of passed Oct. 4th at the High Point Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral service will be Oct. 8th at 2 p.m. at Trinity Heights Wesleyan Church; Rev. Crawford Crenshaw and Rev. Phil Birchall officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Randolph County, June 18, 1927, a daughter of Clyde and Rosa Greene Richardson. She married Levy Coe Stacy on Dec. 23, 1946, and he died Dec. 24, 1982. Her stepfather, Ernest Covington, whom she lived with most of her life, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Hoglen and her husband Marlin of Trinity; a grandson, Caleb Hoglen of Trinity; a sister, Leona Collett and her husband Jimmy of Lexington; a brother, Gilbert Covington and his wife Janice of Summerfield.-Davis

ARCHDALE- (V)Charles Onex Hubbard, 74, passed Oct. 4th at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem. Graveside service with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be held 12:30 p.m. Oct. 6th at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born June 17, 1931, in Guilford County, a son to the late George Albert and Carrie Boggs Hubbard. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Gray Hubbard, and a son, Gray Hubbard. Survivors include his son, Alan Hubbard of Archdale; daughter-in-law Melanie Hubbard of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Dustin Gray Hubbard and Amanda Nicole Hubbard; two sisters, Irene Williams of Trinity and Gladys Keene of Asheboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.-Cumby

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born Sept. 5, 1922, in Macon County, a daughter of George Wilson and Elizabeth Morgan Wilson. Preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Gilbert Michael Bowers. Surviving are her husband, James Grayson Bowers of the home; four children, Carol Bowers and his wife Nancy of Sophia, Kenneth Bowers and his wife Mary of Coco Beach, Fla., Susan Clodfelter and her husband Phil of Archdale, and Patricia Shipwash and her husband Jesse of Archdale; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.-Cumby

ARCHDALE-(V) Sam Galloway, 76, of Archdale, passed Oct. 5th at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 9th at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Rev. Lloyd Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery Born in Chocowinity on Feb. 25, 1929, son to William Rufus and Callie Carlisle Galloway. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers and an infant daughter. On June 10, 1955, he was married to Barbara "Bobbie" Galloway, who survives of the home. -Cumby

Graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at the Asheboro City Cemetery. Born in Asheboro on Jan., 12, 1913, the second daughter and sixth child of the late William J. Armfield Jr. and Sallie Millis Armfield. On Jan. 4, 1938, she married T. Lynwood ”Leaky“ Smith, who passed in 1998. Survived by her daughter, Dee Smith Pell and husband, Edward, of Charlotte; her son, T. Lynwood Smith Jr. and wife, Marlyn, of Advance; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Pell Burgess, Edward Leigh Pell III, Merrie MacCallum Seaman, Alice Mighell Smith, Sarah Armfield Smith and T. Lynwood Smith III. She had eight great-grandchildren, John Keenan Burgess Jr., Cornelia Annabel Burgess and Teressa Pell Burgess of London, England; Sarah Adelaide Seaman, Elizabeth Pell Seaman and Emma Adams Seaman of Pacifica Palisades, Calif.; Edward Leigh ”Leaky“ Pell V, and Lillian Winder Pell, both of Fresno, Calif. ARCHDALE- Mrs. Pearl Cranford Dawson, 86, passed on Oct. 8th at her residence. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 11th at Garrell Street Baptist Church by the Rev. Lloyd Roberts, Ben Hurley and Dr. Joe Coltrane. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Born June 30, 1919, in Randolph County, a daughter of Wayman and Georgia Harris Cranford. On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Elmer Austin Dawson, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Motley and husband Clifford of Archdale and Trudy Davis and husband Brant of Level Cross; a son, Jerry Dawson and wife Becky of Archdale; a sister, Mrs. Bea Funderburk of Lancaster, S.C.; five grandchildren, Scott Motley, Pam Davis Loftis, Teresa Motley Fields, Wendy Davis Evans and Kara Davis; and nine great grandchildren. Born in Horry County, S.C., the son of Theodore Jefferson Mishoe and Mary Allene Mishoe Styron. Survivors include a son, Keith Mishoe and wife, Anna, of Thomasville; a daughter, Amanda I.
