ROLLINS
russanddot@cooke.net, Russell Rollins, 7 Jul 1998
Elias Rollins was born in NC, possibly in Randolph Co. His Wife was Delila ( I think Barcroft) who was born in TN in 1816. They had a son born in 1836 and a daughter born in 1838 both in TN, Elias was born in 1813. They came to TX in 1839. A family that came with them was Daniel Barcroft and a single person Thomas Roberson. It is just a guess but one of them was probably Delila's Brother. Looking forward to hearing from you. Russell

Is there a book available on Moore Family of Randolph Co. NC or a local person that knows most of the family connections that live in Randolph Co.? I have a connection between the Whitmel family and the Moores. I have a great aunt that married in the Moore family and cannot find. I have listed several of the families that I have found that had family names listed in the on-line data from Family Tree maker. I have several generations missing and thought I would work from current back. I have several listings of Moores in Randolph Co. Most of the data on-line says private and does not list parents and dates, so it's hard to trace back. A few of the listings I have:
James H Moore - granndparents, parents and children
Jim & Patsy Moore - grandparents, parents, parents and children
Harvey Moore - grandparents, parents and children

Looking for the mother of Roxanne Emeline Scott, daughter of William Brantley Scott. Roxanne married James Ruffin Latham and had twelve children. William Brantley is the son of Brantley Scott and Elizabeth Brady. William Brantley married a Polly Voncannon and had several children. I have been told that he married a Martha J. King also but the dates I have found so far would have her be eleven years old at Roxanne's birth. This can't be right. Roxanne was born 12/23/1862 and died 12/3/1935. She is listed in the 1970 census for Randolph County with William and Polly living with grandparents William B. Scott.
Need the death date of Mary(Polly) Voncannon Scott. Also the marriage date of William and Martha J. King (if she is Roxanne's mother) Alice Stevens WStevATay@aol.com Thanks a bunch if you can help.

COX
fred.cox@erols.com, Fred Cox, 26 Apr 1998
I am researching the Caleb Cox family. Caleb married Nancy Seals in Rowan Co., NC 28 May 1787 and was found on the 1790 census of Randolph. He remained in Randolph Co. until about 1819 when he removed to Bibb Co., AL. He appears to have not been related to the quaker Coxes of Randolph Co. but was perhaps a brother of Richard Cox who appeared and disappeared about the same time as Caleb. Caleb was found on a 1785 petition asking that the Randolph County county seat me moved to a more central location so perhaps Nancy was from Rowan County. Any information appreciated.

KEARNS (KERNS, KEERANS)
llookout@inficad.com, 15 Apr 1998
What is known of the parents of William and Thomas Kearns/Kerns/Keerans? When did this family come to America and from where did they come? The earliest date I have is for William Kearns and it is from a huge tombstone in Denton NC (a notation reads "Siloh Church" but maybe that should be Shiloh). Family records indicate Willim's wife was Mary King.
I know nothing regarding place of birth for either and nothing re their parents. This tombstone includes reference to a large number of chilldren/spouses as well as reference to the father aand grandfather of one John Kearns and a family named Ivey.

ADDISON
lang.83@osu.edu, John Lang, 22 Apr 1998
I have had a difficult time finding any Addison family members in Randolph County. A Madison and Hancock Co., Indiana, history book states that a forefather of mine, JOHN ADDISON, was born in Preble Co., Ohio, on 20 Jan. 1820. He is the son of JOHN and SARAH ADDISON, formerly of Randolph County, N.C. Since their son was born after they left Randolph I expect that they lived their younger lives, possibly since birth, in Randolph County. I have no birth dates or any info except that they were from there. If you have any info on the ADDISON family or any ideas please forward them to me. I would appreciate any assistance. Kindly, John Lang, Ohio lang.83@osu.edu

KIDD / POWERS
JPK2932@aol.com, John P. Kidd, 27 Feb 1998
My gggg grandfather was MOSES KIDD. Starting in 1798, he owned considerable property in both Chatham and Randolph counties, just above the Moore County line. MOSES KIDD married CARY POWERS about 1795, in Chatham County. CARY POWERS was the daughter of JOHN and SUSANNAH POWERS of Chatham County. JOHN POWERS also owned property in Chatham and Randolph counties, starting as early as 1779. MOSES and CARY KIDD moved to Moore County about 1834. MOSES KIDD died in Moore County in 1843, and was buried in the KIDD-POWERS FAMILY CEMETERY in Northern Moore County. Very little is known about MOSES KIDD before he married CARY POWERS and bought a tract of land in 1798 in Chatham County from his father-in-law, JOHN POWERS. I have often wondered if MOSES KIDD or his parents had any connection to the many Quaker families who moved to Chatham, Guilford and Randolph counties from Pennsylvania between 1740 and 1775. Do you possibly have any information on these early Quaker immigrants to Randolph County? Names or residence locations within the County would be most helpful. Maybe I could match something to my family. Many thanks. John P. Kidd JPK2932@aol.com

ELLIOTT

Researching ELLIOTT surname from Randolph County, NC, Henderson County (formerly Old Buncombe) North Carolina, and Conway (Horry County), South Carolina.
Isaac Elliot (late 1700's), married Anna Huff. They were of the Quaker faith, members of Salem Quaker Church in Randolph County, NC. My Grandmother's history notes say many of our ELLIOTT family is buried in the old Salem cemetary there.
Isaac and Anna's children were- Jacob (died in ILL in 1883), John, William, Jessie, Alford, Daniel, *Alexander, Benjamine (died young) , Mary, Rebecca (mrd. Zaza MERRELL), Leah and Rachel. One girl married a BLAIRE and one died young.
Some of the sons moved to the mid western states. *Alexander Elliott (born 1818) moved to Conway, SC and married JoAnna Przyborowski. Their children were: Thomas Thaddius ELLIOTT (banker in Conway, SC) , Anna Cornellia ELLIOTT (mrd. John HOLBERT), John Welsh ELLIOTT, Alexander Przyborowski ELLIOTT (never married), Fannie Susan ELLIOTT (mrd. Thomas SEAGLE). Alexander had a tannery shop on Kingston Lake in Conway, SC. He was a carpenter by trade, He built houses in Conway, SC, some are still there. He moved to Hendersonville, NC, where he died in 1894.
My Elliot line lived in Randolph County and Henderson County, NC, and Conway SC, but I'm not sure where they were from originally.
If anyone has connections to this family, I would love to hear from you. I am looking for information on anyone deseased or living. I am in the process of compling a family history book and would like family histories, photos, and stories (past and current) from living relatives, no matter how distant kin.
