Our October 3rd meeting , with Mr. Frank Horton was enjoyed all information that he shared with us.
He told us information that we needed to get into the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution and the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution). He also gave us handout materials.

He spoke briefly and generally about DNA testing which he had used to process SAR and Mayflower applications.

Due to the rising costs of printing, shipping and handling, the Robeson County Historical and Genealogical Society has increased its individual membership dues from $15 to $20.
Family membership dues will increase from $20 to $25. Payment for 2010 should be received on or before December 31, 2009.

Our meeting Sept. 12, 2009 at the

Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church

was enjoyed by all.

We learned some interesting facts about the church's history and the

history of its members.

Church members related the history of the Church and its buildings and pastors, and provided a bit of information on some of its early families. They then take us on a tour of the older and more interesting gravesites in the church cemetery.
