A Little Bit of History

Sampson County, North Carolina was, in 1784, formed from Duplin County, North Carolina and the county seat is located at Clinton, North Carolina.  The county was named after John Sampson who was the recorder of deeds in Duplin County.  He was also the first mayor of Wilmington, North Carolina.

 

Sampson County is available for adoption.  If you are interested in becoming the County Administrator for this county please email the State Administrator.  There are other counties in Colorado that are available for adoption and the State Administrator can help in those counties too.
