4H Club Meeting
Millingport, Stanly County 1927
This black and white photograph shows 4-H club members attending a club meeting in Millingport, Stanly County, North Carolina. The girls and boys are sitting in rows of wooden chairs on a playground next to a brick school building. A make-shift basketball goal can be seen behind them. A large desk has been placed in front of the group and a girl is sitting behind it in a cane-bottom chair facing the students. A boy is standing behind the desk speaking to the group. His chair is pushed back behind him. All the students are wearing cloth caps with white bands around them and a 4-H emblem sewn on the side. A few adult men and women are sitting on the back row. The year of the photograph is 1927.
