The Wake
County Genealogical Society (WCGS) was organized in April, 1982, to
promote genealogical study and research, to serve as a medium for
the exchange of genealogical or historical information, to encourage
the preservation of genealogical or historical records, and to
provide cultural, educational, and social opportunities involving
genealogy. In 1983, WCGS was incorporated as a nonprofit
organization under the laws of the State of North Carolina.
WCGS
welcomes all who are interested in genealogy. You do not have to
have Wake County or North Carolina ancestors to be a member. WCGS
meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday monthly except for June,
July, August, and December.
Members
receive the society journal, Wake
Treasures, and the quarterly newsletter,
WCGS Updates., in which they may
place an unlimited number of free queries. Both of these
publications are available on the WCGS website for download. Members receive
access to all issues for the current year and to an archive of past issues.
Annual
dues (September 1 to August 31) are $20.00 for individuals and institutions and
$25.00 for families (two people related by blood or marriage
residing at the same address). New memberships received after May 30 are applied
to the next membership year.
Please
join today. The rewards are priceless.
