AUSTIN / McPETERS - I am looking for information on my ancestors from Yancey Co. My Grandparents were Charles Hezekiah (Jeter) AUSTIN and Claire McPETERS AUSTIN. They both were born just before 1900. Claire McPETERS parents were Johnnie McPETERS and Mary STILES McPETERS. Mary must have died after about 10 yrs. of marriage, I cannot find any record of her after her wedding to Johnnie in 1891.

I would like to know what happened to her and where she might be buried. Charles (Jeter) AUSTIN parents were Will Burt AUSTIN and Alley FOX AUSTIN. I would like to know if anybody has any pictures of them and would be willing to share. Charles (Jeter) AUSTIN lived on Prices Creek, and he and Claire had 9 children who lived to adulthood. I would like to know if anybody has pictures of their family. I am one of their 26 grandchildren, but Grandma Claire died 14 years before I was born, and Charles (Jeter) died when I was 1 1/2 years old. Charles (Jeter) had a brother named Mack AUSTIN who married Claires half-sister, Ellen McPETERS. They had 19 children and I would love to know all their names and maybe get some pictures of Mack and Ellen and their chidren and grandchildren. Mack and Ellen lived on Indian Creek while my father was growing up. Johnnie McPETERS married again to Frankie ROBINSON, and I have never seen a picture of them either. Can anybody help get me some info (any would be appreciated) and maybe some pictures ? My father is Earl AUSTIN, and one of my 1st cousins is Stokes AUSTIN from Blankenship Creek.

BEAVERS / GRIFFIN - William James BEAVERS married a woman named Mary "Polly". Last name unknown to me. They had a son named Stephen. On Stephen's marriage bond it states that his mother was born in Yancey County. It only lists her married name of BEAVER and not her maiden name, or at least I have no reason to believe they were cousins at this point. I believe that William James BEAVERS (sometimes seen as James William BEAVERS) may have marrried in Yancey county as that is where his wife was from. I am trying to find a marriage bond for William and Mary. I am also trying to find out who their son Stephen married in his first marriage. Any help you may be able to offer would be so greatly appreciated. I live in Ohio so I find myself very limited in what info I can obtain from so far out of state. Thanks for your help.

UPDATE TO THIS QUERY:

William James BEAVERS married a Polly Ann GRIFFIN in 1849 or 1850 in Madison County, NC. Polly Ann was born in Yancey County. She had a brother named John GRIFFIN. William and Polly had three sons: Albert, Stephen and Joseph. Polly had an illegitimate son named John (Roundtree) GRIFFIN. Does anyone have any info on these folks?
