REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTING A COUNTY 1. You should have at least some knowledge of html or be able to design a webpage using some type of design program. 2. You should have a desire to share historical and genealogical information about a specific county with researchers around the world. 3. Have an interest in and some knowledge about history and genealogy. (Knowledge about your specific county would be helpful, although I recognize that sometimes people want to adopt a county their relatives lived in, but they may not have a great deal of knowledge about a county. In that case, the state coordinator will assist the person willing to adopt the county in gaining enough knowledge about their county to develop their site. If you feel you can meet these three guidelines and would be interested in hosting a county, please email the State Coordinator, with "County Adoption" in the subject. REQUIREMENTS FOR COUNTY PAGES 1. You MUST provide a link back to the ND state ALHN page, and the national ALHN page. 2. You MUST use the ALHN state graphic for North Dakota located at the top of this page, or the alternate logo located here, on your main page. (It is, however, preferred that the logo appear on all pages. 3. The North Dakota state flag and seal, located here must appear on your main page. 4. The content of your site should include links to pertinent historical and genealogical information about your county, as well as anything else that falls within ALHN guidelines. 5. You are responsible for obtaining your own webspace. Webspace may be obtained for free from Geocities, Rootsweb, NBCi, and USGenNet. 6. You must join the ALHN-ND-CC state list, and ALHN-ND discussion lists. |
