Carl Andersson Line

Carl Andersson, the father of Kajsa Karlsdotter, was born on 1 July 1832 in Lyssas (or Lysas), Karlanda Parish, Varmland, Sweden.

This community or group of farms is one of a group of farms consisting of Hultebyn, Bjorkebol, Manserud, Smolmark and Vannacka. They are centered around the junctions of highways 177 and 172.

Carl lived with his parents, Anders Persson born on 9 November 1796 in Karlanda Parish and his mother Karin Andersdotter born 16 September 1792 at Manserud, Karlanda Parish, at Lyssas until 1851. He was listed in the parish record for Bjorkebol in 1851, Smolmark in 1853, and Vannacka in 1855.

Carl's wife, Karin Elofsdotter come to Vannack, from Smolmark, in 1851. She was the daughter of Elof Andersson who was born 19 Oct 1792 in Karlanda and died 3 March 1831 in Vannacka, Karlanda Parish, and Stina Halvardsdotter who was born in 1793 in Karlanda Parish. Elof Andersson died two months before Karin was born. Karin lived with her mother, two sisters and a brother in Vannacka and later Smolmark until she married Carl.

Karin is listed as the wife of Elof Eriksson who came to Vannaka in 1851 and was out by 9 November 1851. A daughter Erik is listed as born 4 February 1852. Carl and Karin may have been married 14 July 1855 as this date is noted in the church record. Karin's daughter, Erik went to Chassania (sp?), Norway 5 November 1870. It could be assumed that Klof Eriksson or Carl Andersson is the father of Erik.

Karin died on 12 November 1866 while living in Vannacka.

The known children of Carl and Karin are Kajsa and Anders, however a Hisaa born 22 Dec. 1855 is listed in the 1861-1870 record. (See Carl Andersson family group sheet) It is unknown if this was another child of Karin and Carl.

After Karin died in 1866, Carl remained at Vannacka through 1890. Carl's daughter, Kajsa, married Karl Hultman.Carl's son, Anders left on 16 June 1883, probably for the United States. He married in Wisconsin in 1891 and moved to Mason Co. Washington in 1899 where he raised a family and lived until he died in 1946. He was known as Andrew Carlson after immigrating to the United States.

Family of Anders Persson, father of Carl Anderson

Anders Persson is first found in Lyssas, Karlanda Parish with his mother, Kajsa Persdotter, and his three sisters in 1815. Anders married Karin Andersdotter the daughter Anders Gunnersson and Karin Olofsdotter between 1815-1820. Anders Gunnarsson was born in Manserud, Karlanda Parish in 1762 and Karin Olofsdotter was born in Hultebyn in 1761 (see family group sheep for Anders Gunnarsson.)

Anders Persson and his wife Karin Andersdotter had three sons and three daughters (see group sheet for Anders Persson) Anders died at Lyssas on 8 June 1868 and Karin died at Lyssas on 19 April 1862.

Anders mother was Kajsa Persdotter. The earliest record has Anders listed with Kajsa in Lysass 1815-1820, Kajsa is listed as "Mor", however no father is listed. Anders probably married between 1815-1820 as his name is crossed off from the listing with his mother, three brothers and three sisters 0n the 1815-1820 record and is listed with his wife Karin.. Most of the information contained in this report was taken from the Swedish Clerical Survey Records (Husforhorslang) These records were obtained from the LDS Library in Salt Lake City through there branch library in Columbus, Ohio. These Clerical Survey Records did not record marriages or births so some of the relationship are subject to further research, such as Carl Andersson's children.

The Clerical Survey Records are set upmuch like a census making them fairly easy to decipher for theperson that does not read Swedish. These are in contrast to such records as birth, christening, marriage etc which are very difficult to read. Another problem is the gaps in the record, for example the husforhorslang for Karlanda Parish 1800 to 1815 is missing. Go Back to Karl Hultman
