Peace Lutheran Cemetery

The NW Quarter of the NE Quarter of Section 33 in Township 146 N Range 94 W
Dunn County, ND, USA

In 1911, a churchyard and cemetery was established for the newly organized Peace (Friedens) Church. The record book for this church is held in the Normanna Lutheran Church. There were 28 deaths recorded from 1919 to 1952. The first recorded death was Mrs. Emilie Benz. The last death was for Fred Krieger recorded January 20, 1960, however, the only marker with a similar name found during the tombstone transcription was for Fredrich Kreiger which appeared to be a cemetery block marker, not the type of marker usually found for a gravesite. Many of the original church members are interred here.

Historical church information was obtained from the book Dauntless Dunn II - 1989 A History of Dunn County North Dakota page 82.

Peace Lutheran Cemetery is very well maintained. It is fenced, mowed, and the metal markers had even been kept painted. This cemetery also has a trash can located conveniently next to a bench for its visitors.

Please note: Every care possible has been taken to obtain accuracy but mistakes do occur. This transcription is only as accurate as the source it was transcribed from. *Assumed surname from family marker.
