Dahl This was a farm post office established March 13, 1879 with Lewis Knudson Postmaster. It was located in Section 6-152-52, Blooming Township, just South East of present-day Mekinock in the Turtle River valley. The name is an Anglicized version of "dal", meaning valley in all Scandinavian languages. The post office closed August 12, 1881 with mail to Stickney. |

Kelly's / Kellys Station This was the post office serving the adjacent Northern Pacific Rail Road station of Kelly's Station in SE 1/4 Section 13-152-52, Blooming Township, ten miles WNW of Grand Forks. It was established February 14, 1889 with Daniel B, Thompson postmaster and named for Henry and Mary Kelly, who operated an inn for travelers at the site, although others say it was named for Byron Saint Clair Kelly, a pioneer mostly associated with Walsh County. E. H. A. Fischer ran a general store here for many years as a small village of about 10 people developed. The post office closed October 15, 1935 with mail to Grand Forks. Kelley's, Kelly's and Kelly are erroneous spellings. |
