Hanson

This was a post office in Section 18-152-54, Hegton Township, six miles north of Larimore on the old Grand Forks-Fort Totten mail route. Several contemporary accounts refer to this place as Hanson, for Postmaster Hans E. Hanson, but the post office, which operated 1879-1882, was officially named Hegton.

Hegton

This was a rural post office on the Grand Forks-Fort Totten mail rout in Section 18-152-54. Hegton Township, six miles north of Larimore. It was established February 6, 1879 with Hans E. Hanson Postmaster, who coined the name from his hometown of Hegstad, Norway. The post office was unofficially known as Hanson, and closed February 14, 1882 with mail to Larimore.
