Hanson This was a post office in Section 18-152-54, Hegton Township, six miles north of Larimore on the old Grand Forks-Fort Totten mail route. Several contemporary accounts refer to this place as Hanson, for Postmaster Hans E. Hanson, but the post office, which operated 1879-1882, was officially named Hegton. |

Hanson Postmaster, who coined the name from his hometown of Hegstad, Norway. The post office was unofficially known as Hanson, and closed February 14, 1882 with mail to Larimore. |
