Galen Argast (1913 - 1970)
Riverdale - The funeral will be Monday
at 2 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale for Galen V. Argast, 56,
Riverdale, who died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday.
Rev. Luverne Jacobson will officiate and burial will be
in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck. Pallbearers will be Walter
Kottsick, Gene GeTienne, Bob Casperson, Dewey Sutherland, John Martinson and
Robert Walth. Reviewal will be prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Argast was born May 3, 1913, at Moffit. In 1936 he
moved to Jamestown where he was employed by the state as a water plant
operator. He married Kathryn Walth at Wisek July 7, 1940.
In 1949 he moved to Riverdale where he was employed by
the Army Corps of Engineers as a hydro-plant operator. He was a member of the
Meridian Masonic Lodge in Hazen and Kem Temple Shrine of Grand Forks. He was a
member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Riverdale and served as a member of the
church council.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter Karen of
Schweinfurt, Germany; his mother, Mrs. Cora Argast of Bismarck; and a brother,
Ray of Mountain Home, Idaho. (Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison)
