I am looking for a family that lived in Devils Lake in the early years of 1900.  My great grandparents are JAMES A. MILLER born about 1871 in Canada and ISABELLE CHAPIN MILLER born about 1879 in Michigan.  James operated a laundry in the town of Devils Lake.  I believe all their children were born while living in Devils Lake.  REGINALD MILLER (my grandfather) was born 24 Oct 1906; BONNIE MILLER was born ca 1907; ERNEST F. MILLER ca 1911; and HOWARD J. MILLER ca 1917.  REGGIE ran a drycleaning business also.  REGINALD MILLER married CECILIA BAKER on 29 June 1929 at Devils Lake.  CECILIA BAKER MILLER died in 1936 and REGGIE remarried to OLIVE ANDERSON in 1938 and moved to California.  REGGIE MILLER was a member of the Devils Lake Fire Dept., Elks, Odd Fellows, and Devils Lake Governor's Band.  I would like to know if there are any records from these organizations that may help me in my quest for genealogical information on the family.  I would also like to make contact with any decendants of the MILLERS and BAKERS.

I am looking for more information on my grandmother and her family, Anna ANDERSON, daughter of
AXEL T. ANDERSON.  I have some early letters written by my grandfather, PETER SETNES, dated
1918 and from the Edmore Harness Shop.  I know he arrived in this country in 1909 and I believe
settled in Edmore in 1917.  I have been able to find much on my grandfather but have no luck on
my grandmother.  At one time (when I was much younger) there was an annual family reunion (AXEL
    T. ANDERSON) in Grand Forks or somewhere in the area.  My grandmother was one of 12 children.
I do not know where she was born and I am not sure if Edmore is where they met and married.

Axel Anderson and ROZINA CARLSON were married in Sweden in 1875.   The three oldest children
were born in Sweden, the rest in the US.  AXEL passed away in 1939 and ROZINA in 1925.  Other
ANDERSON names (siblings I assume of my grandmother) are CARL, JENNIE, HENRY, EMILY, OTTO,
WALTER, RAGNA, GUNDA, EMILY, and HILDA.

    THROWN FORTY FEET

Ole Johnson, an "Old Solier" is seriously hurt at Ferguson & McKilligan's
    Camp.
Monday morning at Ferguson & McKilligan's logging camp, Ole Johnson was
struck across the stomach by the wire cable of a logging engine of which he
was fireman and seriously injured. He was approaching the engine with a
couple pails of water when the cable broke loose from the load and struck him
throwing him about forty feet. He struck on his left shoulder which was badly
bruised, and did not regain consciousness for some time. He was taken to the
home of Gilbert Wick, where his injuries were attended by Dr. Oliver. He
suffers severe pains, the injuries inflicted by the blow being internal. Mr.
Johnson came here from Des Larmar, N.D. in February. He is fifty-six years
old and was a soldier in the Civil War. His chances for recovery are
    considered poor.
Later- Johnson died Thursday, June 9th, at 4 o'clock, p.m., and was buried
from the Lutheran church the following afternoon, under the auspices of the
G.A.R., Rev. West officiating. A large number of people attended the burial,
the sympathies of the people having been generally aroused by the sad
occurance of his death. Deceased was born in Norway in 1836, and came to this
country when 9 years old. He leaves a wife and three children in North
Dakota. He was a soldier in the Civil War, belonging to the 6th Iowa cavalry,
Co. D. He was in easy circumstance, having come to Washington in search of
    better health.
