Cemeteries from the book, History of Rolette County North Dakota and Yarns of the Pioneers, by Laura Thompson Law, published in 1953, pages 218-220. Please note that the locations noted were descriptions used by the author of the book and the land owners have quite possibly changed since the publication of the book.

Baxter or Fairview	33 – SE ¼	Lost Cemetery (the book states: “Before Rolla was established and a cemetery plotted, the people north of Rolla found it necessary to bury some of the pioneers on a cemetery on a hill, probably in SE¼ of section 33 near the old Bush place. This cemetery is now lost and the spot cannot be identified. The first person buried here is believed to be Mrs. Gordon Markell in about 1885; Mr. John Doran and an early Methodist missionary, Rev. Elliot, lie there also it is believed. There are citizens who recall the cemetery but cannot find the spot.”)
