Edgar Offerdahl
Edgar Offerdahl, 51, died at his farm home in Washington township Friday after a long illness.
He was born on this farm, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Offerdahl, pioneer settlers of the Hatton community. He married Julia Sorenson of Ortonville, Minn. in 1922.
Active in community affairs he served as treasurer of Washington School district 68 for 22 years, was secretary of the Washington Prairie Lutheran church, township assessor, Farmers Union officer and was president of the Hatton Co-operative creamery which he helped organize 20 years ago.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Jean at the home; three grandchildren; three brothers William of Grand Forks, Albert of Northwood and Alfred of Hatton; and four sisters, Mrs. Mina Monson of Hatton, Mrs. A.K. Prestbo of Northwood, Mrs. J.C. Nelson of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Mrs. Edda Davidson of Libby, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the farm home and at 2 p.m. at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church with Rev. A.E. Setness officiating.
Active pallbearers will be six nephews Arland and Robert Offerdahl, Richard Prestbo, Elner and Millard Monson and Chester Offerdahl. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Dean, Jerome Maddock, Ralph Schroeder, Clarence and Melvin Rydland, Clarence Brandon, Carl Aaker, Nels Stendahl, Arthur Benson, Carl Smestad, Clarence Monson and Herman Iverson.
Note - only one daughter listed in the obituary.
