1950
Albert Offerdahl, life long resident of Washington township passed away at the Northwood Hospital Tuesday morning of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Offerdahl was born December 29, 1885 in Washington township and lived his entire life there. He was active in community affairs, serving for a number of years of the Grand Forks PMA committee and also on the Washington township board. He was actively engaged in farming until his health forced to retire. Mrs. Offerdahl passed away in February of this year.
He was a member of Arcana Lodge AF&AM at Northwood and Kem Temple Shrine of Grand Forks.
Survivors include two sons Chester on the home farm, and Arnold of Bismarck; two brothers William at Grand Forks and Alfred of Hatton; four sisters Mrs. A.K. Prestbo of Northwood, Mrs. Mina Monson of Hatton, Mrs. Eida Davidson of San Francisco, and Mrs. John Nelson of Ketchikan, Alaska. He also leaves nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the house and at 2 o'clock at the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church of which he was a life-long member. Rev. A.E. Setness will officiate. Burial will be in the church yard cemetery.

Edgar Offerdahl, 51, died at his farm home in Washington township Friday after a long illness.
He was born on this farm, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Offerdahl, pioneer settlers of the Hatton community. He married Julia Sorenson of Ortonville, Minn. in 1922.
Active in community affairs he served as treasurer of Washington School district 68 for 22 years, was secretary of the Washington Prairie Lutheran church, township assessor, Farmers Union officer and was president of the Hatton Co-operative creamery which he helped organize 20 years ago.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Jean at the home; three grandchildren; three brothers William of Grand Forks, Albert of Northwood and Alfred of Hatton; and four sisters, Mrs. Mina Monson of Hatton, Mrs. A.K. Prestbo of Northwood, Mrs. J.C. Nelson of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Mrs. Edda Davidson of Libby, Mont.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the farm home and at 2 p.m. at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church with Rev. A.E. Setness officiating.
Active pallbearers will be six nephews Arland and Robert Offerdahl, Richard Prestbo, Elner and Millard Monson and Chester Offerdahl. Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Dean, Jerome Maddock, Ralph Schroeder, Clarence and Melvin Rydland, Clarence Brandon, Carl Aaker, Nels Stendahl, Arthur Benson, Carl Smestad, Clarence Monson and Herman Iverson.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) for Oscar Bernt Offerdahl who passed away May 22 at Rochester, Minn., after an illness of several months. Services were held in the Washington Prairie Lutheran church at 2 P.M. with Rev. A.E. Setness officiating. Burial was made in the churchyard cemetery.
Several members of the Valley Male Chorus of Northwood sand at the service.
Mr. Offerdahl was born November 1, 1911, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Offerdahl at Northwood and was baptized and confirmed in the Washington Prairie church. On December 28, 1933 he was married to Lillie Smestad of Hatton and the couple continued to make their home in this community.
Survivors include his wife, six children, Gaylor, Darlene, Lyle, Roger, David and Margie Ann, his parents and two brothers, Chester of Northwood and Arnold of Bismarck.
Active pallbearers were Henning Braaten, Selmer Swenson, Kermit Sletten, Jospeh Noss, Arland Anderson, and Gilbert Sorlien. Honorary pallbearers were Nels Stendahl, C.O. Brandon, Corliss Swenson, Christ Hoff, Melvin Mullet and Marvin Rydland.
