During this period, an issue of the Plattsmouth Daily Herald consisted approximately of 1/3 advertisements, 1/3 national stories from other papers and 1/3 local news and happenings. Part of the local focus included a feature entitled "Personal" which told of the daily comings and goings of local residents. Contrary to current journalistic practices, articles with a local theme were often a mixture of facts and editorial opinion. Advertisements with the appearence of news items were interspersed throughout the paper.
The following excerpts were selected for presentation with the goals of providing a representative sampling, genealogical information and/or historical information.
