DOBRY, FRANK J. [May 20, 1860 - August 6, 1934]
Frank J. Dobry, 74, well known pioneer resident of Colfax county, was found dead in bed at the home of his sons Frank and Lumir, nine miles north and one mile east of Schuyler at, about 12 o'clock Monday. Death came as he was taking his usual forenoon rest. He had been in failing health for some time, but his sons did not notice any unusual change in his condition. He had been with them on the farm for about a week.
Frank J. Dobry was born in Austria May 20th, 1860. At the age of five years he came to the United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mathias Dobry. The family originally settled in Omaha, but three years later moved to Schuyler and homesteaded nine miles north of here. The whole of his life since then was spent on the farm, until about six years ago, when he moved with his family to Schuyler.
His wife died five years ago. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Martha Harris, of Minatare, Mrs. Joseph Brichacek, of Clarkson, Mrs. Jennie Heun, Miss Marie Dobry and Miss Irma Dobry and two sons, Frank and Lumir Dobry, all of this vicinity. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Fleigle, of Omaha, Miss Frances Dobry of Colfax county and three brothers, Charles Dobry, of Farwell, Joseph Dobry of Saskatchewan, Canada and James W. Dobry of Schuyler. One sister, Mrs. Albert Blieck, died in Omaha a few years ago. One brother, John Dobry, passed away at Cedar Rapids, Ia., about a year ago.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mary's church. Burial will take place in the Schuyler cemetery.
