DOSTAL, OTILIA "TILLIE" MARIE (SEMERAD) [July 27, 1909 - March 11, 1967]
SERVICES FOR MRS. JAMES DOSTAL
Funeral services were held Monday morning of this week for Mrs. James L. Dostal, 57, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tabor. Ill for only three weeks, Mrs. Dostal passed away Saturday morning at Bishop Bergan Hospital in Omaha where she had been a major surgery patient.
The 10 a.m. Requiem Mass, sung by the church choir, was officiated by Rev. Anthony Pluhacek with Rev. Vaclav Kovar assisting in the sanctuary. A prayer service at the Humlicek Funeral Home in Dodge preceded the Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard, Dennis and Emil Dostal, Alvin and Joseph Semerad and Lumir Hanzl. St. Mary's Altar Society and the Tabor Extension Club attended the rites in a body. Public rosary was prayed at the Mortuary Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The family requested memorials be sent to the cancer research fund.
Tillie Anna Semerad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Semerad, was born in Colfax County, 1 1/2 miles east of Tabor, July 27, 1909. Her education was received in Colfax County Rural School Dist. 29 southeast of Howells. She was married to James L. Dostal September 25, 1928 by Rev. Anthony Folta at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tabor. Since their marriage the couple have resided on a farm 1 mile south of Tabor. Mrs. Dostal was a life long member of St. Mary's Altar Society and at the time of her death was vice president of the Tabor Extension Club.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ronald, Howells, and James, Omaha; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Kubat, Crystal Lake, Ill., Mrs. Donald (Alice) Virgl, Weston, Mrs. James (Bonita) Tolley, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Misses Vlasta and Marlene, Omaha; 10 grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Agnes Semerad, one brother, Edward Semerad and one sister Mrs. John (Elsie) Ondracek, all of Dodge. She was preceded in death by her father in 1937 and one sister, Blanche.
