MARIK, MARY A. SEMERAD VOGELTANZ [September 3, 1919 - November 17, 1980]
Services for Mary A. Marik, 61, Dodge, were at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. The Rev. Hugh Schwartz officiated with burial in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday at Humlicek Funeral Home where there was a 3 p.m. altar society rosary and a 7 p.m. public rosary.
Born September 3, 1919, near Howells, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Budin) Semerad, she died November 17 at the Schuyler hospital.
She attended Colfax County rural schools and married Frank Vogeltanz September 28, 1942 at Dodge. The couple farmed in the Dodge area until he death November 1962.
She married Frank Marik on June 22, 1965 and they lived at Howells until his death October 15, 1977. Mrs. Marik, who belonged to St. Wenceslaus Altar Society, then moved to Dodge.
Surviving are one son, Delwyn Vogeltanz of Dodge; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Marilyn) Wienke of Dodge; four grandsons; two stepsons, Marvin Marik of Howells and Frank L. Marik of Grand Island; one brother, Louis of Howells; one sister, Mrs. Adolph (Emma) Reznicek of Schuyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two brothers.
Pallbearers were David and Norbert Reznicek, Larry Pickhinke, Allen, Glen and Dale Semerad.
