BEEBE, JOAN MARIE (KRACL) [January 17, 1933 - May 5, 1955 ]
GRANDDAUGHTER OF LOCAL PEOPLE DIES IN FREMONT AFTER FURNACE ACCIDENT
Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at North Bend Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Phillip Beebe, 22, of near Ames, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ondracek of Schuyler. Burial was in the Ridge Cemetery near Fremont.
Mrs. Beebe died at a Fremont hospital, Thursday, May 5, as the result of burns received in a home accident more than a more before.
She suffered second and third degree burns, which covered 80 percent of her body, when she opened the furnace door at their home and her clothing was set afire.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Kracl of North Bend, Joan Kracl Beebe was born Jan. 17, 1933. She was married to Phillip Beebe in Ames on Sept. 8, 1951.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Gordon Richard; a daughter Pamela Sue; her parents, a brother, Emil Gene at home, three sisters, Mrs. Evert Moerker of Fremont, Miss Marie Frances Kracl and Miss Linda Kracl, at home, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ondracek.
The grandparents and their son and daughter-in-law, T-Sgt. and Mrs. Laddie Ondracek and Freddy of Rapid City, S. Dak., and Mrs. Anton Machacek were among a large number of relatives from this community who attended the rites.
