| Colfax County, Nebraska 1940 Census |
On April 2, 2012, the 1940 census images will be released for the first time, and in an all digital format. This page is designed to assist you with gaining information from that document, as it will not be indexed by name at its initial release. I have included links to helpful sites, easy to use tools, and transcribing information if you would like to volunteer with that project, as well as information for Colfax County.

*Important to remember... the three sites that are hosting the images of the 1940 census will receive them at midnight on April 2. They cannot start loading the pages onto their sites until then, so be patient. Your state, county, ED might not show up right away. Also, the sites will see extremely heavy traffic that day, so continue to be patient! They are all working to make sure we have a smooth opening of the census, but technology can be tricky sometimes.
