We who live in Custer County are justifiably proud of our
historian Solomon D. Butcher. While most Nebraskans are familiar
with his work, and while photographs are found in publications all over
the nation, we "locals" like to think we best know the man and that we
best understand the people and the times he chronicled. Although only a
full-size print does his work justice, we'd like to show you a representative
sample to whet your appetite for the permanent exhibition being developed
for our museum. |

Our gallery pages include
nine 9K to 14K thumbnails of Solomon Butcher's photographs, three
to a page, with explanatory text. You can see larger views, 35K
to 55K in file size, by selecting the smaller version. |
|
If you'd rather not load the thumbnails, an alternate
album page includes only the descriptive text with links to the
larger views. |
