Mona Frances Dunkin was born to Francis M. Resseguie and Emily (Clarkson) Resseguie on Oct.22, 1916, at Cambridge, and passed away Jan.12, 2000, at the Fairview Manor in Fairmont, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 20 days.

Mona was raised in the Cambridge area. She was married to Orville Dunkin of Holdrege on Dec.12, 1933, and to them four children were born.

After their marriage they moved around Nebraska following construction jobs for approximately 10 years. They moved to Geneva in 1946. In 1950, they bought a farm northwest of Geneva and lived there 30 years. In 1980, they built a new home in Geneva and moved to town. Mona lived there until health problems forced her to move to Pioneer Manor and eventually to Fairview Manor.

Mona was a member of the United Methodist Church in Geneva for over 50 years. She was also an active member of one of the United Methodist Women's Circles. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and quilting. She also loved to read.

Mona was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; parents, Francis and Emily Resseguie; son, Gary; brothers, Alex, Merlin and Virgil Resseguie; and sister, Doris Webster.

She is survived by her sons, Sherm and wife, Peg of Lincoln and Don and wife, Trudy of Geneva; daughter, Diane and husband, Ray Peschel of Fairmont; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist Church Geneva, on Saturday, Jan.15, 2000 with Rev. Brian Kottas officiating. Susan Kleinschmidt accompanied Delwin V. Myers who sang 'in The Garden", It Is No Secret What God Can Do" and "May The Good Lord Bless and Keep You."

Casket bearers were Steve Dunkin, Brad Dunkin, Scott Dunkin, Mark Stejskal, Doug Stejskal and Jason Pfenning.

Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery with Farmer & Son Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
