Grafton
Grafton, a thriving town on the main line of the B & M RR with a population of 700 is 61 miles from Lincoln and 36 miles from Hastings, in the northwestern portion of Fillmore county. Several flour mills in the neighborhood turn out a superior brand of flour. The two grain elevators are doing a fine business and are constantly employed. Grafton’s banking necessities are well cared for by the Bank of Grafton, an institution which has a capital of $50,000 and enjoys the confidence of people. Two good hotels are popular with the traveling public. The Congregational, Methodist and Catholic denominations are represented here.
