ADDITIONAL NOTES:  Family tradition and court records indicate that C.B. McELVAIN arrived in Furnas county, Nebraska sometime after 1885 and before his marriage to Iris L. MAULSBY in 1892.  The family traveled from Furnas county to western Colorado by covered wagon in 1893, returned briefly to Furnas county, then went back to Colorado by train in 1900 settling on Cottonwood mesa near Hotchkiss in Delta county.
