This website is tremendous. I found more geneology in 2 weeks than I had in 10 years. I linked up with people who had been doing research for 14 years and save myself a lot of duplication.

My father's side of the family were all Nebraskans, so -- as I've never visited there -- this site is providing a nice informative link to my ancestors and their home state. My great-grandfather Daniel held office in the state government early in this century, and I'm hoping to learn more about his life.

Recently I have begun investigating my families'history in the U.S. Both sets of my German Russian grandparents emigrated to Lincoln around 1900. As I live in Texas, I have been utilizing the internet. I had alrady made contact with AHSGR which is based in Lincoln and through posts in their digest I found the page for Lancaster county (NELANCAS). I have to say I was quite pleased and surprised by the rapid response of folks from Lincoln and elsehwhere who read that digest. Offers of information and help were instantaneous and thorough. This site is extremely helpful (and populated by wonderful people). I am very grateful this forum exists.

A few minutes of applause need to be sent to the Lancaster County mailing list. Great support and research help is to be found there. I hope all the counties have such a great list. (a special thank you to Bill who has TWICE found important family information for me. You know the kind - the dead-end, cul-de-sac part of your research that you think you'll never get past. I want to say that the NEGENWEB is a great site! I come to it daily and have had some good results with finding some of my relatives, since I started using this site almost 2 years ago! I live in Lincoln , but because of my health, I don't get to the Archives often & this site has some very helpful & wonderful county coordinators! Keep up the good work, as I am sure that it can be a mind boggling area to keep updated, etc. Thanks so much for maintaining this site. Remember everyone, post messages to the county query boards & update and check often. You just might find that elusive ancestor!

Hi, I am a Nebraskan & an amateur genealogist. I think the NEGENWEB site overall is very well put together. I would like to see more on some of the county sites pertaining to query entries. Stanton county has a link to fill out a query but after typing in everything, it comes up with a message of not on this server!! I think some of the links for the counties ( not all ) are in need of updates. Would like to see more Nebraska related graphics, music to these sites to make the visit more attractive to others. Also it would be wonderful, although I realize not always possible to have each county's cemetery listings. Perhaps they could have a Nebraska Cemeteries Page to list all the counties. This would be seperate from the Tombstone Project. I visit these county sites alot & enjoy doing so, but feel that some need work! Thanks for the site!

THE INFORMATION ON THE SPARKS CEMETARY IS INCONCLUSIVE. I HAVE ANCESTORS BURIED THERE AND THEY WERE NOT ON THE LIST SUBMITTED BY BRENDA BUSING. I DID ENJOY SEEING THE NAMES OF THE SOLDIERS WHO ARE ON THE MONUMENT AT THE GAGE CO. COURT HOUSE, AS I ALSO HAVE AN ANCESTOR ON THE MONUMENT - ABRAHAM POPE.

I want to tell you just how much you have helped me in my research, and also in learning about the history of the area. The NE website and all the counties are quite remarkable. There are so many new additions all the time. The Who's Who of 1940, in the Butler County site verified that my PARNELL had indeed married VANDERKOLK. (I just knew it!) The farmer directory told me approximately when the MOHLERs had arrived, and it gave me other members of the family that I didn't know about! In the Cass County site, I was able to locate the BIRD family's burial sites, and dates from their tombstones. I visited the Chase County site and found some history that I thought was interesting. I don't think I use this website as much as I should. It is always having new information posted. I want to thank you and your volunteers for doing such a good job. I truly appreciate all the help. It doesn't go un-noticed anymore!
