First Officers Training Camp, Fort Snelling. Commissioned August 1917. 1st Lieutenant. Assigned to 338th Field Artillery. Later promoted to Captain. Ready to sail when armistice was signed.

Lincoln, NE - Born Anselmo, NE, Aug.18, 1884. Wife, Eleanor E. Graduate of University Farm in 1908. Entered the service Sept.1, 1918. Quartermaster's Corps. Stationed at Camp Joseph E. Johnston, Jacksonville, FLA.

44c - CAPTAIN H. E. ARMSTRONG  Lincoln, NE - Born Letta, IA, March 19, 1883. Son of Ida & Richard Armstrong. Married. Entered the service Aug.27, 1917. Infantry. Commissioned 1st Lieutenant at Fort Snelling. Stationed Camp Dodge. Promoted to Captain June 1918.

Bayonet Instructor at Camp Logan. Promoted to 1st Lieutenant Oct.1, 1917. Arrived in France June 2, 1918, with 33rd Division. Stationed with the Army of Occupation in Germany.

46c - CAPTAIN WILLIAM W. COWGILL Lincoln, NE - born Paducah, KY, May 2, 1893. Son of Alice & Dr. Warwick M. Cowgill. Graduate of West Point 1917. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant May 15, 1917, Captain Aug.5, 1917. Adjutant of 5th Field Artillery Brigade. In St. Mihiel and Argonne drives. With Army of Occupation in Germany.
