Info concerning my grandmother - Nora Oleva Mattley Williams Brockmoller:
Nora Oleva Mattley was born 23 December 1886 on a farm outside of Ord, Valley County, Nebraska to Luke and Elizabeth Jane (Erridge) Mattley.
She married (1st) Bert Earnest Williams - 27 July 1904 in Ord, Valley County, Nebraska (which just happens to also be the birth date for Grandpa - 27 July 1883 in Cherokee County, Iowa). They were living in Ord when (3 children) Walter Lee Williams, Isla Pearl (Williams) Ferguson and Glenn Charles Williams (we called him Uncle Red) were all born. Grandpa was a telephone worker in the Ord vicinity at the time. They moved to Burwell, Custer County, Nebraska where (2 children) Elma Oleva (Williams) Kaelin and (Loren Otis Williams) were born. They then moved to Ansley, Custer County, Nebraska where (2 more children) Dale Dwaine Williams and Elizabeth Arlene Williams were born.
While they were living in Chapman, Merrick County, Nebraska, Grandpa worked as a lineman for the telephone company and Grandma worked as the telephone operator (was the operator during WW II in Chapman).
After Grandpa Williams died she lived in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska for many years and then married (2nd) Wilhelm "Bill" Brockmoller. They lived between Ogallala, Keith County, Nebraska and Big Springs, Deuel County, Nebraska on Bill's farm.
She died 25 March 1960 in Julesburg, Sedgwick County, Colorado (just across the state line) of a cerebral hemorrhage. Grandma Nora's funeral was held Thursday, 31 March 1960 at the First Methodist Church in Big Springs, Nebraska. She is buried in Big Springs, Deuel County, Nebraska (Bill Brockmoller is also buried there).
I am still searching for Grandpa Bert's brothers and sisters descendants and would love to have them contact me.
