BRANNAN, KING *
Andrew BRANNAN and wife Sarah Jane [KING] were in the Merrick Co, NE area between 1874 and 1881. This is based on three children being born in the county between these years - Orville Captain, Linnie Leota, and Minnie Estella. Also, 1880 Census, ED194, Family 63, Unorganized Territory, NE, p 24, 25 June, 1880, I think places them in Merrick County. Occupation on this census lists Farrier, or Farmer -- could be read as either, although I have heard family recounts of a Brannan who was a Farrier in Nebraska, so I lean toward that. Would love to learn more about my great-great grandfather, his family and their time in Nebraska. Thanks.

CORY/COREY, MERRICK, STUDLEY*
I am interested in finding out about my ancestors who resided in Nebraska from the 1860's. Apparently my Grandfather was a rogue - at best - and has been a non-entity throughout my life. He was Russell Alger STUDLEY - married in Osceola, NE about 1910 to my Grandmother - Darlene Margaret MERRICK. They went to Omaha after their marriage. Her father was William MERRICK - Mother was Lulu May CORY (COREY). I would be particularly interested in information about the Merricks (I have a long history of Cory's) and Russell Studley's lineage. If you can provide me with information and other resources I would appreciate your input.

I noticed under the listing of UPRR listing, the name of L.G. ELLIS. My GGgrandmother may have been in Central City in 1867, as records for her daughter Clara Celestial SPENCE seem to indicate that Clara was born in Central City. I know that Sarah Ellis SPENCE, wife of Thomas SPENCE was living in Davis County, Iowa near Floris throughout most of their married life, where Thomas engaged in farming, working for a coal mining company, and was also a blacksmith. My Ggrandfather was born near Floris, Davis County, Iowa in 1862. Clara was his sister, and she is shown as being born in Nebraska in 1867. Were there any ELLIS folks living in Central City at that period of time? Any help with this mystery would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

PERSINGER, PARKER, SHINE
Is anyone familiar with the book "A History of Merrick County" From "the beginning to 1894 or 1895"? This was written by my Grandfather, C.E. PERSINGER. I obtained the microfilm some years back and made copies of the pages. Some of the microfilm was poor and I can't make out all the words and I think I'm missing page(s) at the end of the book. I feel like it's not quite complete. Also, the pictures did not come out very well. The contents of the book appeared in the "Nonpareil" in the form of columns during the months of March to August, 1895 ??, at which time my grandfather was editor of the "Nonpareil". Would anyone be able to help me complete this book?
Would anyone have information on Newton Reid PERSINGER, my gGrandfather? or his brothers, William Irvin, Franklin Moses, or John Milton, or my grandfathers cousin, Milton A. PERSINGER.
I'm also looking for information on my grandmothers side. Cora Shine PARKER, married to Frank PARKER. Cora (COE) was my grandmothers aunt. I'm trying to trace the SHINE name. ROMM, MYHOFFER, STRIECH, TREWEILER
I am looking for William Frederick ROMM. He is supposedly buried in the Clarks Cememtary in Merrick County. He had two, possibly three, wives: Lousie STRIECH, Alvina MYHOFFER, and Gertie TREWEILER. He lived in HOLT County during the 1900 census. Alvina or Gertie was born in PIERCE County. He was born in October of 1853 and died in either 1924 or 1927. His last name was changed when he came to America from Germany. I am specifically looking for his parent's names or the name change information.
