Each archive file is ordered as extracted. The file can be searched by Surname; Surname, Given name; or by the associated soundex. The surname spelling is as extracted with no attempt at spelling correction. If you don't know the soundex try Calculate a Soundex

If the surname could not be read, the soundex code is given as ???? - even if the first letter of the surname was legible. In some cases we couldn't read the surname, but could get some info about family members.

In at least one precinct some children were marked as "illegitimate" (usually spelled out in full).

Several pages are out of order - especially in Fullerton. While page numbers are as originally assigned, we have reproduced the pages in the order that we believe they fit. Part of a family could be listed several pages away from the Head, etc. You may even find a family split between wards, so be sure to look at all three wards of Fullerton.
