HARTINGTON, Neb. -- Faye L. Christensen, 67, of Hartington died 
Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church 
in Hartington. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation. 
Arrangements are under the direction of Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

WAKEFIELD, Neb. -- Helen E. Meier, 77, of Wakefield died Fri., 
Apr. 7, 2006, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church 
in Wakefield. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.

CROFTON, Neb. -- Dorothy J. "Dora" Tramp, 92, of Crofton died Sunday, 
April 9, 2006, in Yankton, S.D.
Services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in 
Crofton. Burial will be in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. 

Walter "Wally" Samuel Knudsen, 21, of Sioux City died Oct. 9, 1944
from traumatic injuries sustained when his B-24D bomber crashed 
southwest of Lae, New Guinea, during World War II. His remains 
were recently discovered and returned home for burial.
Graveside services with military rites will be 1 p.m. Saturday in 
Memorial Park Cemetery. 
Born April 23, 1923, in Goodwin, Neb., the youngest 
of three children born to Samuel and Hanna (Pedersen) Knudsen. 
Walter attended Central High School and graduated June 5, 1941.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on July 23, 1941, and was 
assigned to the 8th Air Squadron Air Service Group. 
Survivors include his loving brothers, Harold Knudsen and John and Howard 
Knox; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Walter is preceded in death by his mother and father; stepfather, John Knox; 
and beloved sister, Clara.

Selma M. Berger, 92, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. 
Selma M. Berger was born Jan. 8, 1914, in Seward, Neb., the daughter 
of Conrad and Sophia (Meyer) Ringler. She attended Sioux City schools.
Married Clarence Berger in 1943 in the Leeds area of Sioux City. 
Clarence passed away on Aug. 3, 1981, in Sioux City. 
Survivors include two sons and their wives, six daughters; a sister; 
as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- James M. Bennett, 83, of South Sioux City died 
Friday, April 14, 2006, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in 
South Sioux City. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in South Sioux City. 
James M. Bennett was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Newcastle, Neb., the son of 
James and Susan (Dougherty) Bennett. He grew up in Newcastle and 
graduated from Newcastle High School. He then attended Wayne State College.
Married Mary E. Bakken on May 12, 1947, in Sioux City. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Lowe, Esther 
Crombie and Eileen Kneifl; and seven brothers, Isadore, Lawrence, Raymond, 
Melvin, Robert, Levi and Leslie.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Corrine F. Thacker, 81, of West Okoboji, Iowa, formerly 
of South Sioux City, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in Milford, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in 
South Sioux City. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday in Omaha Valley 
Cemetery at Homer, Neb. 

BANCROFT, Neb. -- Lauren H. Hermelbracht, 74, of Bancroft died Sat., 
April 15, 2006, following a lengthy battle with lung disease.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bancroft. 
Burial will be in Bancroft City Cemetery. 

DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. -- Eva R. Baker, 88, of Dakota Dunes died Ap 17, 2006
at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Eva was born May 11, 1917, in Pender, Neb., the daughter of Daniel and Elsie 
(Shreve) Matney. 
Married Irvin P. Baker in October 1937. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clifford and Floyd 
Matney; and a sister, Dorthea Matney Marks.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Richard R. "Dick" Peltz, 75, of South Sioux City 
died Monday, April 17, 2006, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church in 
South Sioux City. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, with 
a military flag presentation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 17, 1930, in Linwood, Neb., the son of Rudolph and Veronica 
H. (Riha) Peltz.   
He married Vlasta A. "Val" Lorenc on June 2, 1951, in Linwood, Neb. 
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Donna M. Haber, 69, of Sioux City died Apr 15, 2006, in Sioux City.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Loving Faith Fellowship in Sioux City. 
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Emerson, Neb. 

STUART, Neb. -- Herman Henry Kramer, 85, of Stuart died Apr 16, 2006.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart. 
Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under 
the direction of Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson, Neb.

EMERSON, Neb. -- Ann Peters, 88, of Emerson passed away Apr 16, 2006.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson. 
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction 
of Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson.
Born July 25, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to Joseph and Pauline (Klisiewicz) Przybyla.
Married Russell Peters of Waterbury, Neb., while he was stationed in Chicago 
during World War II. 
Russell passed away Oct. 10, 1961. 
She moved into Emerson in January 1962. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, John 
and Stanley Przybyla; and a great-grandson, Gunner Mackling.

Elizabeth P. Hoelscher, 78, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 20, 2006, in Omaha, Neb.
Arrangements are pending with Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Orville William Muenchau, 84, of Sioux City died Apr 26, 2006.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. 
Private graveside services will be held prior to the service Saturday in 
Logan Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of 
Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home. 
Born Mar 3, 1922, in Eagle, Neb., the son of William Ernest and Ida 
JoHanna (Wolken) Muenchau. Graduated from Eagle High School in 1939. 
Served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Married Dorothy Cathleen Stufft on June 4, 1950, in Lincoln, Neb. 
Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Cheryl;
and a son, Kevin.

ALLEN, Neb. -- Shiela L. Schroeder, 55, of Allen died Apr 26, 2006, in 
Cedar County, Neb., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Allen. 
Arrangements: Thompson Chapel Funeral Home in Wakefield, Neb.
Shiela Louise Schroeder, the daughter of Edward and Bonnell (Hoeman) 
Doescher, was born Sept. 21, 1950, in Wakefield, Neb. 
Graduated from Wakefield High School in 1968.
Married Garry LeRoy Schroeder in 1971, at St. John Lutheran Church 
in Wakefield. The couple lived in a farm north of Wakefield. Garry died in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

NEWCASTLE, Neb. -- Rose Violet Miille, 66, of Newcastle passed away 
suddenly Apr 26, 2006, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in 
Martinsburg, Neb. Burial will be in Silver Ridge Cemetery, rural Ponca, Neb. 
Born Mar 10, 1940, in Ponca, Neb., to Gustave and Rosa (Bauman) Miille. 
Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Maurice and Otis; 
a sister, Merle Miille; and a brother-in-law, Alvie Hansen.

HUBBARD, Neb. -- Paul H. High, 64, of Hubbard died Apr 27, 2006, 
at a Sioux City hospital.
Arrangements are pending with Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

PONCA, Neb. -- Donovan C. "Don" Heydon, 81, of Ponca died Apr 24, 2006
at his daughter's residence in Long Beach, Calif.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Ponca City Cemetery.

LYONS, Neb. -- Maxine A. Sandquist, 79, of Lyons died Apr 27, 2006.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Memorial United Methodist Church in Lyons. 
Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery. 

HUBBARD, Neb. -- Paul H. High, 64, of Hubbard died Apr 27, 2006, 
at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian 
Church in South Sioux City. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. 
Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery.

HOMER, Neb. -- Margaret Eleanor Allaway formerly of Homer 
died Apr 28, 2006, in New Jersey.
Arrangements are pending with Becker-Hunt Funeral Home 
in South Sioux City.
