She was born at Cortland, Kan. on Sept. 27, 1911, the fifth child of 10 children of Edwin Burdell and Mildred Pearl Robb Myers. Doris taught school in a one-room schoolhouse for two years before marrying Lyle Raymond Bennett in Phillipsburg, Kan. on Jan. 2, 1932. Mr. Bennett passed away on Sept. 15, 1957. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Jean Kellogg; five brothers, Walter, Guy, Dale, Boyce and Eugene Myers; two sisters, Blanche Ball and Erma Terrell.
