  NEBRASKA CITY NEWS-PRESS
The News-Press is Nebraska's oldest newspaper, having been founded in 1854 in Nebraska City. Many older issues are retained on microfilm by the Nebraska State Historical Society in Lincon, and by the Morton-James Library which is in Nebraska City. The newspaper office would also have some retained issues. Regular features include history of the area.   The Nebraska State Gazeteer of 1890-1891
The gazetteer is a source of information for those living in Otoe County in 1890-91. It includes businesses and towns, and lists of farmers. Since the 1890 census is largely unavailable, this can serve as a partial substitute. However, it is not a directory of all persons living in the county.
