CONSTITUTION OF THE NEBRASKA SOCIETY OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
C O N S T I T U T I O N

The NAME of this organization shall be Omaha Chapter of the Nebraska Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and it shall be a subsidiary of the State organization of the Nebraska Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
The OBJECTS of this Chapter shall be to unite and promote fellowship among the lineal descendents of those men who assisted by their services in the Revolution, to foster patriotism, and to promote respect for the principles of the government founded by our forefathers.
The OFFICERS of this Chapter shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, who shall be elected for two years at each annual meeting, and whose duties shall be such as are ordinarily performed by like officers of similar organizations. The officers of Secretary and Treasurer may be held by one person.
There shall be an EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE of three members, which shall consist of the President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Chapter. The executive committee shall have charge of the general affairs of the Chapter between meetings. The President of the Chapter shall be ex-officio chairman of the executive committee, when present.
The MEMBERSHIP of this Chapter shall be composed of men who have been received into membership in the Nebraska Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and who have been unanimously elected to membership in this Chapter at any regular meeting.
The REGULAR MEETINGS shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month. The annual meetings will be held in the spring and fall. Those elected will take office at the annual State meeting in the spring.
SPECIAL MEETINGS of the Chapter may be called by the President or by any other two officers of the Chapter and only upon personal notice or by notice by letter mailed 24 hours in advance to the last known address of each member.
DUES in this Chapter shall be 10 dollars per annum, each year being reckoned from the 1st day of January.
AMENDMENTS to this Constitution shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting and shall be voted upon at the next regular meeting. A two-thirds majority shall be necessary to adopt an amendment.
