STUMP BURYING GROUND

"Stump Burying Ground" as this cemetery is known is located five miles north of Edison, Nebraska in Furnas County. It is in the corner of a pasture next to Turkey Creek Sec. 1 T4N R22W. The first burial was in 1893 and the last in 1946.

This land is owned by my nephew. We copied the names and dates as best we could on November 17, 1978. Many of the stones are missing, the bases could be found by using sticks to move the tall grass and briar bushes. Some of the lettering and dates have deteriorated.
