This Bible the book is fragmented, and does not have a front piece. The family record and the New Testament are still bound together. On the sheet introducing the New Testament, which follows the family record, there is a sheet showing the publisher. It reads "Philadelphia: William W. Harding: 1864."

The transcription includes line returns and punctuation as it appears in the Bible. Any text in italics, or inside squared brackets, are notes added by York County Historical for clarification.

Marriages
The marriages appear to be written by possibly three different people. It looks as if Joseph's entry was by one person, Conaway's entry was by a second person, and Allen and George's entries were by a third person but at different times. If the last two entries were by a third person, it would also explain why the entries are not in chronological order.

[The original day of marriage was lined out and 10th written below it. It appears this change was
made at the same time, and by the same author, as the original entry. The original entry looks like
it they put a tail on the zero, or wrote a 9 with a very short tail. The last digit of the year appears
to have been corrected too, however, the original number is not decipherable.]

Births
The births appear to be written by the same person and at the same time, except the entry for George P. Lucas.

George M. P. Lucas was
Born Apr. 6th 1818.

Deaths
The first two entries, Samuel and Conaway, were probably written by the same person and possibly at the same time. The same person probably entered all the births except George's, and the marriage records for Allen and George. Joseph's death entry appears to be by a different person in a style new to this Bible. Sarah and George's death records were probably by the same person, but again by a new person. The last entry was made by still another person.
