    Note:  The library will do look-ups at no cost, donations welcomed. Because of staffing restrictions this service is limited and must be for specific queries. Microfilm collection includes: complete set of York Daily NewsTimes 1911-present, the Teller newspaper 1897-1949, and all York County Census Records. The library strives to collect all printed materials related to York County History, including family histories. They maintain the working files of the Greater York Area Genealogical Society, and house the local DAR's collection of reference materials. The DAR collection, however, has minimal direct linkage to York County.

    Note:  York became the site for the Nebraska State IOOF Home in 1910. It housed elderly and/or infirmed adults members, and orphans and half-orphans of members. The Grand Secretary's office still maintains all the files on the adults.
