The minutes of the November 2002 meeting were accepted as printed.

Treasurer’s report was read by John Ricard and accepted.

Correspondence:  Dan reviewed information on the New Hampshire Quilt Documentation Phase 2 program.  Nancy Snyder will look into the possibility of the Society participating, perhaps at Old Home Day.  A letter from E. B. A. Munroe seeking genealogical information was referred to Donna.

Jim Miller requested information on the Museum’s listing on the National Register of Historical Places.  Donna explained the standing.

Old Business: Snow roller: Dan showed Ed Lary’s photo of a snow roller shelter which will be submitted to the Historic District Commission as part of our application.  It was suggested that stone or gravel could be used in place of a cement slab.  David Zani has offered to do the excavating work.

Museum building: John Ricard has not heard back from Selectman Tim Lewis regarding funds for the repair of the building.  John requested contact information for Carl Schmidt of Orford.

New Business: It was requested that Carol ask Chuck Townsend to try for an April program with Brenda Whittemore of UNH.

Program:  Judith Kushner and Carol Bergeron gave a program which explained the Photographing of Canaan Barns Project.  Photographs of the barns in the area of South Road were shown.  Photographing these buildings is the first stage of a long term effort and six members have signed up to assist in the documentation which will hopefully become part of the Museum’s collection.   Interested barn owners/ fans are able to find more information about preservation programs from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, PO Box 268 Concord NH 03302-0268 or www.nhpreservation.org
