Meeting
of October 27, 2003
President Dan Fleetham opened the 7 p.m.
meeting, at his discretion, in the Senior Center.
Members
present: President Dan Fleetham, Treasurer Reg Barney, Historian &
Corresponding Secretary Donna Zani Dunkerton, Secretary Carol Bergeron and
members: Pete & Betty Cummings, Louise Kremzner, Jackie Lary, Jean Ricard.
The minutes
of the April 2003 meeting were accepted as read.
TreasurerÕs
report was read and accepted.
Correspondence Received: Grafton Historical Society Newsletter; invoice from Association of NH Historical Societies dues for 2003-4.
Moved and
voted to pay the dues.
Old
Business:
Snow
Roller: Donna reported that we have received permission from the Historic
District Commission to install the concrete pad for the snow roller. However, construction has been delayed
by wet ground. David Zani has
volunteered to do the excavation and grading and Bob Levene will install the
concrete, also without charge.
Museum: Donna reported that the museum was busy all summer and
closed for the season last Friday.
The paintings have been removed to DonnaÕs and 4 will be returned to
Michel WellsÕ son. Donna reports
that Gary Hamel will lend some paintings next year.
Donations
this summer include two collapsible silk top hats in boxes dated April 1872 5th
Ave. New York. They are the gift
of Mr. & Mrs. William Tansey; milk tester ca. 1930s, Neil Andrews; box of
old books including scrapbooks.
Also, Chuck Townsend gave two copies of the Canaan Reporter to the
museum.
Nominating Committee: Louise Kremzner presented the slate of officers: President Dan Fleetham, Vice-President John Ricard, Treasurer Reg Barney, Secretary Carol Bergeron, Historian & Corresponding Secretary Donna Zani Dunkerton.
Dan requested nominations from the floor. There being none, the President instructed the Secretary to cast one ballot for the slate. It was moved and voted to do so.
The meeting was adjourned and refreshments by Jackie & Donna followed.
The next
meeting will be held November 24, 2003 at the Canaan Senior Center
