                                                                                                Meeting of February 28, 2005

 

 

 President Dan Fleetham opened the meeting at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center.

 

Members present: President Dan Fleetham Sr., Vice President John Ricard, Treasurer Reg Barney, Secretary Carol Bergeron and members: Pete & Betty Cummings, Dan Fleetham, Jr., and Charles Townsend.

The minutes of the October 25, 2004 meeting were read and accepted.

TreasurerŐs report was read and accepted.

Old Business: John Ricard reported, in DonnaŐs absence, that Donna had written to Carroll Concrete in Newport requesting their donation of concrete for the pad under the snow roller.   They generously donated the concrete.  Discussion followed about the timetable for moving the snow roller to the site.  Dan said he would pursue getting drawings of the shelter to be built on the pad.

 

John Ricard will speak with Patsy Carter about a guest speaker on the Abenakis.

 

New Business: Discussion followed of the necessity of the town to set aside funds in the Capitol Improvement Budget to paint and maintain the Museum building. 

 

Correspondence:  Dan noted that we need to file our non-profit report annually with the State and pay $25.00.

 

Reggie read excerpts from the diary of Charles Walworth, Jr. of South Rd. (1809-96).  Fascinating details of daily life, church and social happenings, floods and accidents,

were carefully recorded.  Chuck Townsend offered to put the excerpts on the Historical website.

 

Dan adjourned the meeting.

 

Our next meeting is April 25th at the Senior Center.
