Canaan Historical Society

                                                       Meeting of February 27, 2006

                                                                             Senior Center

 

 

President Dan Fleetham Sr. opened the meeting at 7 p.m.

Members Present: President Dan Fleetham Sr., Historian and Corresponding Secretary Donna Dunkerton, John Ricard and Dan Fleetham Jr.

 

The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted. Treasurer’s report was deferred until the next meeting.

 

President Dan read correspondence and mail Items of interest were passed around to the membership, including information on Cave Photography by Kevin Downey at the Groton Town House on March 10, 2006; the Genealogical Society of Utah, (Donna will follow up).; An invitation to the Society of Historical Societies of New Hampshire—held over to next meeting; Letter from the NH Historical Society asking about information to join   the Canaan Historical Society-Dan Sr. will follow up with letter.

 

 

Old Business:

MUSEUM:   Donna discussed the Ned B. Smith Collection that was donated to the NH Historical Society and how we might be able get access to it and also discussed whether or not some of the items may be returned for exhibit in Canaan in the future.

 

New Business: None

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:32 PM with refreshments, (cookies packaged for home)…
