                                     Meeting of January 22, 2007

                                                  Senior Center

 

 

President Dan Fleetham Sr. opened the meeting at 7 p.m.

Members Present: President Dan Fleetham Sr., Historian and Corresponding Secretary Donna Zani- Dunkerton, John Ricard,  Ed and Jackie Lary, Patsy Carter, Pete & Betty Cummings, Pam and Dave Webster and Dan Fleetham Jr.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted. The TreasurerÕs Report was read and distributed by John Ricard as Regi Barney was not in attendance. TreasurerÕs report approved: 1st Patsy Carter; 2nd Donna Zani-Dunkerton.

 

 

Old Business:

 A discussion on the Snow roller ensued with Dan Fleetham Sr. reminiscing about riding it down Canaan Street in the early 1920Õs between Fred Cross and Norman Jewell.

 John led a discussion on the new roofing job and brought up the question of their Òbeing a problem with putting a roof on in severe cold weatherÓ Dan Fleetham Sr. will get a report from the town when the job is finished.

 

New Business:

Dan Fleetham Sr. read a letter from Humanities To Go-ÒSprightly StepÓ relating to the  NH Contra Dancing Traditions Program by Adam Boyce. The cost is $35.00 and the event must be booked 10 weeks in advance. After a short discussion among the members it was decided to no participate at this time. 

A short discussion ensued on the Mt. Cardigan Art Gallery and the Artist Areas down at the old Canaan Hardware Building.

John asked if there would be interest in a  ÒWalking Tour of Canaan Fire LocationsÓ Some discussion ensued covering possibly holding a lunch or dinner following the walking tour and having an exhibit of photos and other artifacts at the American Legion or possibly the Masonic Lodge. We will further discuss the Walking Tour at our next meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
