Donna reported on the John Ricard Memorial Fund: she has asked Karen Ricard to donate JohnÕs collection of Canaan memorabilia to the Museum.  Karen says it will take some time before she can do that.  Donna noted that space in the museum is limited and the following have been received: cream separator, sewing machine, sod roller.  Donna also gave a tour of the Museum to a representative of the NH Preservation Alliance.

John Bergeron has been notified that the State DES has awarded the Canaan Source Water Protection Committee a grant of $20,000 for a study they will conduct.

Chuck gave his updates to the web site: photo album from a Mass. woman; scanned the vital statistics from 1887 up til today; considering putting the census from 1790 on the site.  Donna will assist him in proofing the names.Chuck attended a viewing of the program ÒToo Much Water, Too Much RainÓ about the Alstead NH floods.  He recommends we consider it for a program.

Carol reported on the NE Museum Assoc. meeting, which she & Dan & Dan Jr. attended in Oct.  Five organizations reported on their relevance to historical societies and museums.  Of note was the possibility that the NH Historical Society hopes to train and buy a site license for the computer program Past Perfect which would be available to local societies.  They are also studying the feasibility of building a large storage facility with space available to NH historical societies.

Meeting was adjourned and Jackie served refreshments.

The next meeting will be March 24, 2008.

Respectfully submitted, Carol Bergeron
