Cardigan
Mountain School wishes to remove the George Kimball House, also known as Twin
Gables, from its property on Prospect St.. They have offered the building to the Historical Society and
to the town. The consensus seems
to be that the house is in much disrepair and difficult to remove. Carol moved, Chuck seconded, that the
Society form a committee to look further at the situation because this house
had important connections to the Noyes Academy and possibly the Underground
Railroad. Jean and Donna wish to
tour the house when possible.
Dartmouth
College has invited a representative to its program ÒExperience
DartmouthÓ. Donna will try to
attend.
Jean
showed the album she has made giving the history and repair of the Snow
Roller. It was noted that the
Roller needs another coat of sealer and the fence needs to be erected.
Carol
mentioned the photo-selling program of the Amherst Historical Society.
Bonnie
is willing to inquire about getting some of our pictures reproduced.
Meeting
was adjourned.
Next
meeting will be on Memorial Day, May 26th.

submitted, Carol Bergeron
