The Town House also known as “The Meeting House" was started in 1793 and completed in 1796. Wen the first bell was placed in the belfry is not known, but in 1853, Eleazer Martin was appointed an agent to sell the old bell and buy a new one of 1,200 pounds and hang the same. In 1894, a clock was added to the tower, placed just beneath the bell.
